This is atrocious.[edit]

You cannot honestly say that this qualifies as a professionally-done guideline under any circumstances and it requires massive revision. Somebody take a look at this and make the proper changes, because this is awful.

Redid page - August 2007[edit]

Re-edited the page to point to the meta (its a mess and probably depreciated). Wikilinked to the official policy and guideline on fair use materials. Moved old page in here for anyone interested. Its unsourced editorializing. --Eqdoktor 15:08, 1 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

These days, we are actually quite paranoid about copyright.

An older page on meta m:Avoid copyright paranoia shows that we used to be a bit more laissez-faire. Wikipedia has a got a lot bigger since then - Jimbo has certainly become more careful about not trampling on the rights of others. I think this is one area where the community has followed Jimbo's lead.
