Run frequency[edit]
I am thinking of setting this up as a cron job, but am wondering how often it should run. What do you think @Primefac and SQL:? --TheSandDoctor Talk 20:12, 17 December 2018 (UTC)
- TheSandDoctor, Daily at best probably, maybe weekly - I guess it depends a lot on the amount that pile up. SQLQuery me! 19:00, 18 December 2018 (UTC)
- I concur - if it's only a half-dozen pages per day, weekly probably makes more sense, but otherwise daily should be okay. Primefac (talk) 21:25, 23 December 2018 (UTC)
- @SQL and Primefac: Took a while has I have been quite busy, but the cronjob has now been submitted and should run at 03:00 (UTC), or 7pm PST/10pm ET, daily. I will update here if it successfully went to work at 03:00. --TheSandDoctor Talk 00:55, 3 January 2019 (UTC)
- Ran properly, just didn't run on time as the cron had issues starting. That said, they are resolved now, it ran successfully off of a temporary cron, and will be on schedule tomorrow. --TheSandDoctor Talk 04:43, 3 January 2019 (UTC)

@SQL and Primefac: Should {{stub}} and its other aliases/versions be included? They do state "article" and Wikipedia:Stub makes no mention of drafts. --TheSandDoctor Talk 04:45, 3 January 2019 (UTC)
- It's one thing to remove {{stub}}, another to be able to effectively remove all of the subtypes. Do a trial run of 50 and post the results here. Primefac (talk) 16:34, 4 January 2019 (UTC)
- @Primefac: There are over 29,500 of them, excluding their redirects/aliases. I am obviously not adding them by hand and am currently doing a lot of time-consuming (lots of waiting) analysis in an attempt to have all of their names in a file for lookup, which I will periodically update (eventually, probably by cronjob). This is a far bigger task than I was anticipating and is going to take a while. I just thought I would post a quick "I'm working on it" update so that you know this is under way. --TheSandDoctor Talk 21:19, 9 January 2019 (UTC)
