- I may have a conflict of interest, due to my work in OER or affiliation with a school. What should I do?
- Conflicts of interest are, of course, an important consideration on Wikipedia, which strives to present factual information in a neutral way. But there is plenty you can do to help improve Wikipedia! One of the main goals of Communicate OER is to help education experts find an ethical and effective way to contribute to Wikipedia. Specifically, our first suggested task, the Communicate OER Article Review, offers a great opportunity to get started. It adheres to the two most important principles of working under a conflict of interest: (1) disclosing your connection to the subject, and (2) seeking consensus through discussion, rather than changing an article directly.
