Confusion[edit]

I'd just like to say that I came here because it was advertised above my watchlist, but it is not clear what this is about. I tried to navigate away from this page through some of the links, but none of those pages explained anything either. If you are going to spam peoples' watchlists, please at least make it clear what you are telling us about and/or what you want us to do. Thank you. Lesion (talk) 11:44, 1 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Seconded. What is a Featured list candidate? According to Wikipedia: Featured list candidates it seems to be an article. According to this page, it seems to be a person. Please clarify, and until you do, please don't waste our time. --GRuban (talk) 13:46, 1 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
What the hell is the "FL process" and why does it need human delegates??? ElKevbo (talk) 14:28, 1 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • [further explanation needed] You seem to know more about the subject than all the people who has been summoned. Can you explain in terms that someone who has never hear the words "Featured list" could understand? (Which is the case for a huge percentage of people for whom the notice has been posted). • Setting aside the question of why you have FL or FLC on your watch list if you don't follow the featured list process... The director and delegates have the power to close FLC nominations. So, for example, I nominated 300 save club at FLC here. People supported/commented/etc on the nomination, and once enough time had passed (and enough votes were cast) DaBomb87 closed the nomination and promoted the article. • Oh! Now I see the watchlist notice you're talking about. That is a bit much, I'll admit. Staxringold talkcontribs 17:14, 1 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Okay, here we go. Everyone familiar with FAC, FLC, or any assessment process in general would know that a delegate or coordinator is the person in charge of doing all the background stuff related to (in this specific case) FLC. FLC stands for Featured list candidates (candidate stands for list, obviously.), the process through which new featured lists are selected. However, featured lists are not selected by a powerful mighty magic; several users elected by the community from time to time are in charge of this responsibility. Actually, only Giants2008 and me are in charge of this, but we felt it wasn't enough so we commented about making an election to choose two new delegates to take on all of these tasks. We were planning this for a month now and instead of flat-out going and asking for the removal of the notice. — ΛΧΣ21 00:49, 2 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
