  • Conference theme? Is “GLAM and Community Outreach” a good theme?

Finance: Vacant committee position

  • Our different expense needs are from the venue, catering, speakers, giveouts, print media, press outreach
  • What are our price estimates for venue, catering, speakers?
    • Who is responsible for getting price estimates regarding speakers? (Venue and catering estimates will in all likelihood come out of the RFP process)
  • Who are our different vendor options for the other things?
  • What exactly are our needs? How much will we need, and so forth?
  • Who will be responsible for contacting different vendors for price estimates for the other things?
  • When do we need to make a decision by?

Scholarship: Vacant committee position

  • Should this even be a position on the committee? Doesn’t the Wikimedia Foundation usually handle this?
  • If we agree to keep this on the committee, who should be responsible for this?
  • What are our criteria for handing out scholarships for visitors?
  • What does the scholarship cover?
  • Who will fund these scholarships? (Refer to earlier conversation about sponsors.)
  • We should really do more research on the scholarship process.

Visas: Aude

  • Aude will probably organize the most discussion regarding visas and holding Wikimania in the United States.

Media Relations: Swatjester

  • Who are our press outlets?
  • What should our plan be for releasing press releases?
  • Inviting the press to Wikimania?

DC Meetup #16[edit]
