New article: Marriage of Billie Ert and Antonio Molina[edit]

I was doing some reading and came across this story, which doesn't yet seem to have an article or any coverage on Wikipedia at all: http://www.houstonlgbthistory.org/misc-ert.html

Other sources: 1 2 3 (Their story saw a revival in late 2014)

This marriage that took place in Houston in 1972, between William "Billie" Ert and Antonio Molina, was dubbed the first "legal" same-sex marriage in the United States, although the Texas Attorney General later declared the marriage null. They had obtained a marriage license while Ert was in drag (and thus, the county office believed they were a man and a woman- they would not have issued a marriage license to two men), and after obtaining the license, they were married in Houston. It apparently made international headlines and their story became a huge sensation. I'm not sure what the article would be called ("Marriage of Billie Ert and Antonio Molina"?), but it definitely seems deserving of one to me, due to its scope, historical notability, and the subsequent legal battles. I'd be more than happy to create the article, I would just like to ask for input on this. Thoughts? TCMemoire 00:07, 27 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@TCMemoire: Great research. I'd suggest creating the article at Marriage of Billie Ert and Antonio Molina. Sure, someone may come along and move the article to a title so that it is consistent with similar articles, but I can't think of an alternate title off the top of my head. Looking forward to reading your work! ---Another Believer (Talk) 00:11, 27 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
