why is there no information on Shane Evans, Dean Roland, or Will Turpin from Collective Soul?

The comment above was entered unsigned by Shadowplay12 (talk · contribs) on 01:28, 16 January 2007
Because nobody entered that information, add them to the list by editing Requested articles/music/Performers and bands. BNutzer 01:19, 16 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Self-posted edits (spam filter rejected my revert[edit]

This page seems to get a lot of self-edits by people trying to list themselves. Tonight, I tried to revert a self-post by Teograph but the spam filter did not let me revert it because a website cjb exists on the list. Recommend someone clean up this list. Morenooso 01:21, 2 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

ROLLING STONES Is a PRIORITY PAGE?[edit]

I've seen that the Rolling Stones are top priority but continue to find that the "hidden Stones" are not really featured, which puzzles me. I'm too new to make real change; however. One issue that confounds me, has to do with the two powerful backup singers who have albums and multi-credits in their own right. I'm speaking of Lisa Fischer and Bernard Fowler both of whom have been regular featured song singers on tour and on the Rolling Stones albums since 1995 and on the solo albums of both Mick Jagger and Keith Richards. If the Stones project is so vital, then why is Bernard Fowler sitting on the back burner waiting for a page? He has a band of his own, and a great deal more credits.. I mean, really! Sorry. I've been waiting to see this. Thanks. LeahtwoSaints --leahtwosaints 10:35, 20 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I put up a page on him. Chubbles 17:52, 20 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Chubbles, THANKS. There's plenty of information out there on Bernard Fowler, so perhaps I can add a little. --leahtwosaints 10:15, 23 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Organisation[edit]

Shall we make this 'requesting' lark better?

Shall we asign people to each era and they can go down each list to get this down quicker?

If you follow sign your name as a signiture under each headline:

With all due respect, I'm the only person who fulfills requests here; I maintain the list and remove blue links. I haven't done much work here in the past few weeks because I've been busy writing jazz articles. Chubbles (talk) 14:00, 12 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Which isn't to say that I wouldn't appreciate the help. But there don't seem to be many people interested in article creation anymore, and articles about musicians are extremely hard to write nowadays unless you're very good at editing. Chubbles (talk) 05:31, 14 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Good job on gettin rid of the blue articles chubbles. I tried doin that but it didnt work for some reason.99.153.2.148 (talk) 00:21, 9 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Point1 - What the heck? Ok some people just dont know ther ABCs. I found a band that started with C in the Z section. This article needs some improvement.

Point2 - This article is WAAAAAAAAAAY to long. I think some one should seperate it into seperate articles. The length makes it hard to edit.T4k (talk) 15:38, 10 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Landmines are about to go on tour with Less than Jake. They seem worthy of an article to me. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.228.61.23 (talk) 08:10, 26 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I am terrified[edit]

Will somone please make them an artical! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.119.73.170 (talk) 21:49, 13 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What, are you terrified that if you write an article on this mysterious band, that they will track you down and kill you? My gosh, they have scared you so much you cant even write their name! Or, maybe the bands name is "them". maybe the midget version (hence lower case) of van morrisons band? I can see a drunk midget van morrison imitator being annoying, but not terrifying. Maybe they dont want any publicity? well, that would make them the most notable musical group ever, as they would be the ONLY one disliking attention of any sort. I for one am not even going to type their name in a search engine, out of respect for their desire for anonymity, and so they cant requisition search term data from google, figure out who i am, and track me down. boy, I am terrified now.66.80.6.163 (talk) 20:09, 22 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
There needs to be a "like button" on Wikipedia. 107.207.141.246 (talk) 19:35, 15 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Self-adds?[edit]

I am not registered in wikipedia, but I've added alot of requests for smaller bands that have gained notoriety internationally, mostly metal bands. I've also added a reference usually to Encyclopedia Metallum. Yet, most of these requests have been deleted as ""spam." Maybe you should look further into the band / artists history rather than using your only your own judgement to delete links that you think are unnecessary. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.29.82.8 (talk) 17:16, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dr.Steel[edit]

I've noticed that there have been numerous attempts at creating a Dr.Steel page but each time it was deleted for no real reason. They usually say it's due to not meeting notability standards despite Dr.Steel being featured all over the internet and even appearing on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno along with a few other shows. Is there just some Wikipedia Editor who has a personal vendetta against the good doctor or does the Wiki-Brass just not like Dr.Steel ? And could someone please try once more to create a wikipage for Dr.Steel ? ~~Voltos

DJ Morgoth[edit]

Wanted to add him, but apparently someone else already added him. Guess he now has at least two requests. ;) --82.171.70.54 (talk) 03:07, 20 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds From The Ground[edit]

Unless someone shows strong opposition, I'll recreate the Sounds From The Ground article this week. By the way, the correct spelling is "Sounds From The Ground" - all first letter capitalized, according to the band itself. --Sorw (talk) 13:00, 15 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"The" bands[edit]

Today I spent some time cleaning up this page but didn't have time to re-alphabatize the whole bunch of "The" bands that are currently sitting in the "Tf-Tl" section. People are putting requests in that category despite the warnings to alphabatize "The" bands by the second word. I just wanted to draw attention to this if anyone has the time to move a bunch of redlinks around. Doomsdayer520 (talk) 11:57, 20 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Time periods for notability[edit]

This method of organization seems to have almost completely disappeared, so i removed the "1990-2010" heading, and the instructions for placing names in periods. if someone wants to revive this, too bad, unless you decide to categorize all the extant listings by time period.(Mercurywoodrose) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.80.6.163 (talk) 20:18, 22 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Signing my entries[edit]

I just signed my entries on the list, in accordance with the proposal on the main request page. It is so the requester can be notified if the request has been approved or denied. Also, the requester can be contacted if further information is needed to fulfill the request. Allen (talk) 02:38, 22 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Adding to an Existing Entry[edit]

I am going to pick an example for this question. Ladybaby is a Japanese Idol group under the genre of Cute DeathJ-POP×Death Metal). There exists a Japanese Wikipedia article for this band (https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/LADYBABY), but no Western article, and I think that adding the link of the Japanese article to the existing request might be helpful for whomever takes up the request (so the two pages will generally contain the same information).
So my question is: Can I add information to the existing request if it is a constructive improvement?
Christopher, Salem, OR (talk) 17:28, 19 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Adding a link to the Japanese Wikipedia article would be a good idea – it supplements the existing sources in the request. —Bruce1eetalk 07:27, 20 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Done - Thank you for the confirmation, Bruce1ee.
Christopher, Salem, OR (talk) 03:22, 24 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Massfivestar[edit]

There should be a Wikipedia page made about HIPHOP artist Massfivestar. He has worked with and has songs with French Montana, max b , dame grease, project pat, TROY ave, lil poopy and more Massfivestar (talk) 06:07, 7 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Add your request to this page, but be sure to include reliable, independent, 3rd party sources. —Bruce1eetalk 07:21, 7 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Jt machinima[edit]

Why not add him? Me.Spoofie (talk) 20:03, 24 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Requesting articles about self[edit]

The note at the top of WP:Requested articles/music/Performers, bands and songwriters says:

Please do not list yourself, or your own band, as this is considered promotional. Whether your band warrants inclusion in Wikipedia is a decision that should be made by someone else.

I thought having someone else decide whether the article topic merits inclusion is part of the point of WP:RA. I'm aware that inappropriate self-requests by garage bands or would-be "up-and-coming" artists that clearly aren't notable (yet) are a problem, but wouldn't having them request an article here be the least problem? Writing an autobiographical draft (or getting autoconfirmed and writing an autobiographical article) would be more problematic, require more cleanup, and lead to more frustration for the would-be subject. On the other hand, people who are clearly notable and whom we have missed so far should have some venue to get an article, and due to their conflict of interest they still shouldn't be the ones to write it. I usually recommend to such people that they go here to request an article about themselves. For these reasons I propose removing that line from the note. Huon (talk) 20:02, 5 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Since no one objected over several months, I have implemented the proposed change. Huon (talk) 18:56, 5 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Pending changes?[edit]

Why does this have pending changes? It doesn't make sense. NikolaiHo☎️ 19:39, 16 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The reason given by User:Wizardman is "repeated additions of unsourced/non-notable content" – see these page logs. —Bruce1eetalk 20:51, 16 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Do I add an artist under their given, or professional name?[edit]

Artist in question is Derek Jhingoree, known in the music world as Jingles. NightShade1401 (talk) 10:46, 27 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Gene Schroeder musician[edit]

There is a jazz piano player named Gene Schroeder, who is not the American football player Gene Schroeder in English Wikipedia. Piano player Schroeder is in the German Wikipedia. Here’s that entry, translated- https://de.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gene_Schroeder

Can someone just copy the German article into Wikipedia? Or someone write a new article from scratch? Wis2fan (talk) 02:52, 17 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
