(this message was also left on the contact person's talk page) Hi! Welcome to Wikipedia and I hope your translation project is going well! I came across a situation this morning that I think you should know about. A wikipedia article translationdraft has been nominated for deletion. The stated reason was that it was not written in English. I dug into the history of the article and found that it is being edited by students involved with your project.

As the edits are being done in articlespace on Wikipedia, it becomes a problem when the students are making changes and other editors see the edits as new articles or as vandalism. I would suggest that the students work on draft translations on subpages to avoid this problem. I notice on your project's page, this had been the intention all along.

Thank you for your help and consideration and best wishes with your project! Wikipelli Talk 15:11, 12 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Follow up.. The article has been moved to: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:EnriqueGarcia/Translationdraft

Advice[edit]

Please learn to create wikilinks, eg. we do not code [[The_Impossible_Voyage|The Impossible Voyage]]. We simply code [[The Impossible Voyage]]. And do not follow Wikipelli's terrible example above - that link should be User:EnriqueGarcia/Translationdraft.

As you have been told above, we do not put these drafts into the (article) namespace. Furthermore, it would be far better if you put drafts of translations into Spanish on the es: Wikipedia so that you can be add adding the proper wikilinks right from the start. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 21:26, 17 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Purpose[edit]

Please confirm that the end-product of this project is going to be proper articles on the Spanish Wikipedia (es:) complete with references and outgoing and incoming wikilinks. If it is not, please do your work elsewhere because Wikipedia is not a host site for school projects and the like. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 09:53, 18 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Did you even look at es: before you selected these topics? I have struck five in the list because Spanish articles already exist. In the case of these, please either: improve the existing Spanish article or select a different article for translation. Please check all the others for possible es: articles which have not been given interwiki links yet. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 10:08, 18 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

On further checking, I see that the Srpski film draft is of a section which is not in es: and the War Horse draft is just the plot summary which is not in es:. (But here I would say that the summary is over long by Englkish Wikipedia standards and may be the same for es:.) I hope similar considerations apply for the other titles that I have struck. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 10:27, 18 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Duplication[edit]

It seems a waste of effort and a recipe for confusion to maintain the actual tasks tables in two places. I suggest that they should be maintained in es:Wikipedia:Proyecto educativo/Aprendices de traducción con la Wikipedia only. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 20:40, 22 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
