Copying my reply to Jetstreamer on my talk page regarding his deletion nomination (removed by another editor) with the comment "This a page unilaterally created by a user that claims a source is not reliable. A clear consensus is required before proceeding with this." here for wider visibility:

Hi @Jetstreamer - I did create the essay but I don't believe a consensus is needed to do that given the consensus on Simple Flying. The essay tag in the header states: "contains the advice or opinions of one or more Wikipedia contributors". In this case, the essay reflects the consensus reached on the Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard regarding Simple Flying and just gives me/others an easy place to link for explanation. Looks like the tag was removed but I obviously have no objection if you feel anything in the essay does not represent the consensus or best practice want to collaborate on it.

Consensus is not needed for creating a page, but you cannot cite this very page, which is in the mainspace and not in your personal space, to remove SimpleFlying, because it was created by you and no other input was added. This page reflects your vision only.--Jetstreamer Talk 12:38, 9 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The essay simply summarizes consensus, imo. Do you disagree with how I've summarized consensus here? Avgeekamfot (talk) 00:58, 11 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I disagree with citing this very page, which was created by you. This is the same reasoning that you used in Aerolíneas Argentinas when you told me that I was the one that added the {{Use British English}} template and proceeded with the change from British to American English. Please be coherent.--Jetstreamer Talk 12:32, 11 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
This discussion seems circular. I wrote this essay so there's an easier place to point to which explains the consensus while implementing. If you agree that this essay summarizes consensus accurately, then I don't see the problem? If you don't think it summarizes consensus accurately, then I'd appreciate you bringing how it falls short to my attention. If you disagree with the consensus re: Simple Flying (since you did re-add citations to them), then, I think there should be another discussion in the RSN… Avgeekamfot (talk) 18:30, 11 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
