I updated the personal info warning. 4thfile4thrank (talk) 23:33, 2 December 2020 (UTC)

Can you please change "Unnecessarily changing between British and American English" to "Unnecessarily changing between varieties of English"?

There are more than 2 varieties of English, and the template agrees with me. 4thfile4thrank (talk) 23:58, 2 December 2020 (UTC)

4thfile4thrank, checkY Done by sportzpikachu. I've also checked the changes and those seem fine. Merry Christmas! Asartea Talk Contribs! 12:43, 3 December 2020 (UTC)

Can you please add the uw-redirect series and call it "creating inappropriate redirects?

4thfile4thrank, checkY Done in the base code, however you won't see the change until the next time Ed actually updates the script Merry Christmas! Asartea Talk Contribs! 14:14, 3 December 2020 (UTC)

Proposal to merge {{subst:uw-vandalism1}} with {{subst:uw-disruptive1}}

Just a quick heads up, a proposal to merge Template:uw-vandalism1 with Template:uw-disruptive1 is ongoing at Wikipedia:Templates for discussion/Log/2020 November 26#Template:Uw-disruptive1. Opal|zukor(discuss) 17:34, 3 December 2020 (UTC)

Can you please disable "Vandalism-only account, promotion-only account, and compromised account" when you are reporting IP addresses?

@Asartea: Can you please disable "Vandalism-only account, promotion-only account, and compromised account" when you are reporting IP addresses? Apart from these making no sense, they are also confusing to patrollers. Twinkle has these disabled for IP addresses. 4thfile4thrank (talk) 19:52, 3 December 2020 (UTC)

On it. 🎄🎄 Ed talk! 🎄🎄 19:56, 3 December 2020 (UTC)
@4thfile4thrank, done :) 🎄🎄 Ed talk! 🎄🎄 20:10, 3 December 2020 (UTC)
It it possible to add uw-selfinfo to warn users not to post personal info about themselves? 4thfile4thrank (talk) 20:12, 3 December 2020 (UTC)
@4thfile4thrank, yes - there's a bug at the moment with the rule list however so I've had to go back to November 27ths version for the time being, apologies 🎄🎄 Ed talk! 🎄🎄 20:52, 3 December 2020 (UTC)

Toolforge vs gadget

I know I brought this topic up already, but given the recent gadget proposal, I figure some bother could be saved by turning the script into a Toolforge tool. Correct me if I'm wrong, but RedWarn basically replaces the whole screen/Wikipedia interface with its own interface, right? (Or that's just the Recent Changes part?) In that case, there's no need for RedWarn (or the RC part) to be a user script, since the original Wikipedia interface is unnecessary, and it could just be a tool. One advantage: users wouldn't even have to install anything anymore; they'd just navigate directly to the tool page (and log in with OAuth, but that'd be a one-time thing). Enterprisey (talk!) 10:35, 6 December 2020 (UTC)

@Enterprisey:, Unfortunately RedWarn uses the base Wikipedia interface with added icons and dialog most of the time, same as Twinkle. Its only really Recent Changes that kind of replaces the normal Wikipedia interface right now. We are however working on an standalone tool. Merry Christmas! Revert Vandalism and warn user

Once I revert vandalism, there should be a menu that asks me which warning I should give and it auto gives the warning instead of me having to go through and create the page and then add the template which is tedious. TigerScientist (talk) 00:38, 17 December 2020 (UTC)

TigerScientist, I believe the reason behind the need to click "Add Warning" is that not all rollbacks require a templated warning. There is also a chance that a user may also want to provide an additional message alongside the template. —Tenryuu 🐲 ( 💬 • 📝 ) (🎁 Wishlist! 🎁) 00:40, 17 December 2020 (UTC)
TigerScientist, could you check your preferences and tell me which option is currently enabled under Behaviour -> Once a rollback is complete... ? If it isn't Warn User enabling that one should do what you want; opening up the warn menu automatically when you use the revert buttons. If you do have that one checked please let me know because in that case something is bugged Merry Christmas! Asartea Talk Contribs! 06:10, 17 December 2020 (UTC)

Ok thank you Tenryuu 🐲 and I know this is off topic but how do you change your username's color? TigerScientist (talk) 00:43, 17 December 2020 (UTC)

TigerScientist, you're going to want to take a look at the signature tutorial. —Tenryuu 🐲 ( 💬 • 📝 ) (🎁 Wishlist! 🎁) 00:49, 17 December 2020 (UTC)

rtl language compatible?

Hi guys. I recently got introduced to your tool and it's awesome. We are using Twinkle in Fawiki (Persian) to fight vandalism, but i thought that having additional tool like RedWarn would be great for our CV-unit editors. I also found your tool good enough for that purpose! But i have some questions:

  • Is this tool designed in a way that can be used (or localized) on wikis with rtl language?
  • Is there a common way to get the tool to other wikis?

Unfortunately, i'm not an expert in coding and maintaining gadgets and tools, but i can ask for other expert users' help locally. For example, i asked one experienced user to take a look at the tool. Then he said that he couldn't find speedyDeleteReasons.js (and other scripts) which he thinks we need to translate. Any helps or guides would be appreciated. Regards. --Jeeputer (talk) 07:43, 30 December 2020 (UTC)

@Jeeputer: Hey there! Thanks for your interest in RedWarn! Currently, we are rewriting the entire codebase, and are providing a way for users to translate and localize RedWarn into other languages. As for support for RTL languages, I don't have much experience in that and have contacted another team member who is more experienced with fawiki. I'll get back to you when I have an answer for you. ―sportzpikachu my talkcontribs 08:08, 30 December 2020 (UTC)

RedWarn on Commons?

Hello all- Is there a way to implement RedWarn in one's Commons account? Eric talk 17:39, 30 December 2020 (UTC)
