They really need a copyedit for language. I have no idea what "Was this aspect given in the past or currently?" means vis-a-vis editing motivations. If they don't bother to copyedit for clarity, I don't bother to finish the form. - BanyanTree 16:15, 12 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. I hope they will read these comments. It's a common phenomenon though, as native speakers of German tend to believe that English is easy compared to, say, French or Spanish. <KF> 17:23, July 12, 2005 (UTC)
That's because English is closely related to German. Jarlaxle 19:48, July 12, 2005 (UTC)
<KF> 20:09, July 12, 2005 (UTC)
First of all, thanks for creating this page, and for your suggestions! Although we did have several native speakers go over the questionnaire before starting the survey (who did not comment on these particular questions), we now did some additional revisions for clarity in the instructions. I'm sorry for any confusion about the questions! -- Joachim Schroer 10:04, July 14, 2005 (UTC)

I too couldn't answer all the questions, because I didn't have the foggiest idea what they were going on about. -- Francs2000 | Talk 21:12, 12 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I assume this project has ended. Is the survey data available, and has any academic publications been done using this data?--Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus Talk 23:42, 27 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry I only read your comment just now. Yes, a draft paper [1] is available (currently under review). It is, however, based on the first part of study, i.e. our survey among contributors to the German Wikipedia. Joachim Schroer 13:42, February 07, 2007 (UTC)

I have recently translated some basic results to Wikipedia:User_survey#German_Wikipedia_survey; I have also read your paper - very interesting. It's a shame meta:GUS is not moving :( -- Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus | talk  07:28, 24 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oh yes, all the cool things that could be done with meta:GUS... But I find that the data we have already is quite valuable, and we're working hard to make the most of it. :-) JSchroer 13:58, 30 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
