Narrowing down the priorities?[edit]

I wonder whether it might be more realistic to narrow this list down. For instance, it might make more sense not to worry about cities at least until all countries have been taken care of. And maybe core topics and core biographies could be selectivly handled at Wikipedia:Version 0.5 Nominations/Missing articles. Maurreen 21:57, 3 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I left it open because I wasn't sure (a) how many people will be helping and (b) what they want to work on. Since we already had a core topics review page set up, I thought we may as well use it! The main core topics should be easy to review - 3-4 good nights work for a seasoned reviewer. The missing articles as written should be easy to do also, but we may want to have an option to propose adding to it as we uncover something major. In a week or so we may well be able to narrow it down a lot. Walkerma 01:57, 4 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Finding redirects[edit]

BozMo and Wikiwizzy have both said we need to include redirects, possibly via a lookup table or similar method if we don't have an offline search capability. Is there a simple way to find only redirects from "What links here?" I asked the experts(?) this same question. Walkerma 18:10, 14 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It does seem like a big job. I say we concentrate on a workable search solution. ksearch-client-side does the lookup table thing - a pre-built index. Wizzy 08:02, 15 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
What do you mean by "does the lookup table thing" - will it produce a lookup table for us somehow? Or can it just use a lookup table? If only the latter, is it possible to write a script that can give us lists of suitable redirects? Walkerma 17:37, 15 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
