List of geographical infoboxes[edit]

Geographical infoboxes derived from template:infobox city or template:infobox country are likely candidates for using this technique. All templates in Category:Geography infobox templates are listed below and are being examined to find and fix current instances of this problem. Already checked and, if appropriate, fixed templates are listed in strikethrough font. -- Rick Block (talk) 02:13, 21 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What technique? Andy Mabbett 19:41, 7 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The technique of creating a multi-line infobox using matching embedded HTML <BR> in adjacent cells. This creates a visual row not reflected in the HTML table structure. This is a problem for blind users because screen readers read cell by cell, html row by html row, not visual row by visual row. -- Rick Block (talk) 22:58, 5 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. I understand why that's a problem; just didn't see what you were referring to. Andy Mabbett (User:Pigsonthewing); Andy's talk; Andy's edits 00:07, 6 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion[edit]

Other accessibility changes[edit]

When fixing Template:Infobox Mexico City Borough [7] I made some additional changes to address other accessibility problems:

In this case the problems were fixed very easily, but maybe if more complicated problems arise we should at least identify them for future work. Maybe we should create a template message to identify these accessibility problems in its talk page. Like {{infoboxneeded}} (see Wikipedia:Template messages/Cleanup). --surueña 21:10, 21 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've just created the template {{wai-problem}}. It receives as a parameter the WP:WAI section violated, for example:
If you like it I will add to the Wikipedia:Template messages/Cleanup. Please, as I'm not a native English speaker, feel free to make all the corrections you want in the wording. Thanks! --surueña 23:49, 21 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Some modifications: now the template can have up to 3 parameters:

Template:Infobox Football biography[edit]

The tables in {{Infobox Football biography}} need to be subdivided (examples: 'Senior career' and 'teams managed' in Andy Preece). Andy Mabbett (User:Pigsonthewing); Andy's talk; Andy's edits 06:29, 24 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ditto {{Infobox football official}}. Andy Mabbett (User:Pigsonthewing); Andy's talk; Andy's edits 15:08, 14 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
