BTCC Race reports

Hi, it doesn't look like much actually happens round here any more, but I plan to create race reports for BTCC races, starting with the first race of this season, and then last season. Any input is welcome, not quite sure how I'm gonna do it just yet though. Allypap81 (talk) 19:57, 1 April 2012 (UTC)

Just so you're aware, they've been deleted in the past as being below the threshhold of notability. --Falcadore (talk) 20:23, 1 April 2012 (UTC)
Yeah, I suspected as much, although there are reports for some WTCC races, and a template for a WTCC race infobox, there's pretty much nothing for BTCC, which is a shame IMO, and I think it's notable enough (just my opinion, obviously). However I lack the know-how (and time, at the moment) to do it all myself really. I just think that the sport has gained enough popularity over the past couple of years to be notable. I won't create the articles then, but if it's decided that they will be created and someone does and would like some help, then I'm happy to help. Allypap81 (talk) 16:14, 2 April 2012 (UTC)
You can add the reports to the season article. One moderately sized paragraph per weekend would be fine. Good bye! --NaBUru38 (talk) 16:34, 25 July 2012 (UTC)

Aggregated racing driver infoboxes

User:Frietjes has proposed making changes to the various series-specific racing driver infoboxes ({{Infobox F1 driver}}, {{Infobox Le Mans driver}}, {{Infobox WRC driver}}, etc) to allow them to be embedded inside {{Infobox racing driver}}, such that a driver's article may contain a single infobox covering all the different series in which they have particpated, rather than multiple infoboxes - see Andy Priaulx as an example. You are welcome to express any views you may have on the matter at Template_talk:Infobox_racing_driver#addition_of_modules. DH85868993 (talk) 01:36, 25 January 2013 (UTC)

2012 season articles needing work

Time for my annual post about incomplete season articles. The following series articles are little more than tables. Most of them don't even explain what they are, whether they are open wheel series, where they are held, who won the series! Apparently a series as important as DTM considers the point score system more important than the series champion.

The situation is also encouraging new editors to be likewise poor in seasonal coverage.

So while the majority of series are in hibernation perhaps we could spend a few days improving these articles.

Surely it would be more important and productive than arguing over whether Mercedes or Mercedes AMG is the correct terminiology for a constructor? Less minuatae!

No mention of series winner:
2012 British Formula Ford season
2012 British Formula Three season
2012 British GT season
2012 British Rally Championship season
2012 FIA Formula Two Championship season
2012 Ginetta GT Supercup season
2012 Ginetta Junior Championship season
2012 Porsche Carrera Cup Great Britain
2012 Renault Clio Cup United Kingdom season

Series winner mentioned but no season review:

  • Indicates race summaries, but a lack of season review

2012 Scottish Rally Championship season
2012 Speedway Elite League

Thank you for your time. --Falcadore (talk) 05:27, 6 February 2013 (UTC)

Article assessment

McLaren needs a Class Rating and Importance assigned to it on the talk page if someone could sort that. MIVP - (Can I Help?) (Maybe a bit of tea for thought?) 08:36, 5 March 2013 (UTC)

This project doesn't assign Class or Importance ratings to articles; articles are just tagged as being within the project's scope. DH85868993 (talk) 01:20, 7 March 2013 (UTC)

Hi, an update is required for British Touring Car Championship. The introduction as well as the chapter 'Type of cars' are stuck in pre-NGTC-era.

  • According to the introduction NGTC regulations are 'to be introduced from 2011'.
  • According to the chapter 'Type of cars' Super 2000 cars are still the 'regular cars' and even BTC-T cars are still run. NGTC is not mentioned. --217.227.89.27 (talk) 00:04, 31 March 2013 (UTC)

Pirelli Richard Burns Foundation Rally

Pirelli Richard Burns Foundation Rally could do with some TLC, please. Someone recently rewrote it to be about the 2013 event, but it seems to be an annual feature. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 21:58, 10 August 2013 (UTC)

Dan Cammish

Is Dan Cammish notable enough to sustain a stand alone article? He's just won the Formula Ford champiship by winning 22 out of 22 races that he competed in, with 22 poles and about 20 fastest laps too. Mjroots (talk) 17:36, 15 September 2013 (UTC)

I believe that F3 drivers and below aren't notable because it's development series. But that's just my opinion. --NaBUru38 (talk) 18:47, 24 October 2013 (UTC)

Comment on the WikiProject X proposal

Hello there! As you may already know, most WikiProjects here on Wikipedia struggle to stay active after they've been founded. I believe there is a lot of potential for WikiProjects to facilitate collaboration across subject areas, so I have submitted a grant proposal with the Wikimedia Foundation for the "WikiProject X" project. WikiProject X will study what makes WikiProjects succeed in retaining editors and then design a prototype WikiProject system that will recruit contributors to WikiProjects and help them run effectively. Please review the proposal here and leave feedback. If you have any questions, you can ask on the proposal page or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you for your time! (Also, sorry about the posting mistake earlier. If someone already moved my message to the talk page, feel free to remove this posting.) Harej (talk) 22:47, 1 October 2014 (UTC)

WikiProject X is live!

Hello everyone!

You may have received a message from me earlier asking you to comment on my WikiProject X proposal. The good news is that WikiProject X is now live! In our first phase, we are focusing on research. At this time, we are looking for people to share their experiences with WikiProjects: good, bad, or neutral. We are also looking for WikiProjects that may be interested in trying out new tools and layouts that will make participating easier and projects easier to maintain. If you or your WikiProject are interested, check us out! Note that this is an opt-in program; no WikiProject will be required to change anything against its wishes. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you!

Note: To receive additional notifications about WikiProject X on this talk page, please add this page to Wikipedia:WikiProject X/Newsletter. Otherwise, this will be the last notification sent about WikiProject X.

The British rally multiple winners since 1960

The list of multiple winners needs editing, Sebastian Ogier has now won the event 4 times in a row since 2013. to match Peter Solberg's record.

Not sure which list you mean. The one at Wales Rally GB already shows Ogier's correct total. Pyrope 14:16, 22 June 2017 (UTC)

Classic Car race series

Classicracegoer (talk) 21:11, 8 January 2019 (UTC) I am going to contribute, edit and expand this project with respect to the Classic Car race series that are popular in the UK. I will be adding and and expanding relevant drivers, teams and tracks. i am looking to standardise the entries for each so that readers can find information more easily. I have reached out a number of other race goers as potential editors to help me build the content for this project. I will keep you all updated via this talk.

A new newsletter directory is out!

A new Newsletter directory has been created to replace the old, out-of-date one. If your WikiProject and its taskforces have newsletters (even inactive ones), or if you know of a missing newsletter (including from sister projects like WikiSpecies), please include it in the directory! The template can be a bit tricky, so if you need help, just post the newsletter on the template's talk page and someone will add it for you.
