Category[edit]

Because it is WP:Cities it has no category? It's informative to the reader. Is it just confined to editors? Student7 11:39, 19 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If you will select the tab "article," you may notice, at the bottom of the page, that the words, in red, are displayed. Those words say "uncategorized." My question is "why"? Most genuine articles have a category imprinted at the bottom. This is done by editing and inserting brackets category colon <actual selection of a category> closed brackets. This is usually done at the bottom of the page. I hope this clarifies my question. Student7 13:01, 25 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The page was just created within a month. I didn't add a category to it, mainly because that's the LAST thing I think of. I'm still not sure what the obsession is with categories by some editors, but if it makes them feel better, I guess I could add a category,... Dr. Cash 18:39, 25 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry. I didn't look at dates. I thought it was a part of WikiProject Cities and a very big deal and around "forever." My problem as a low level editor is being able to find these things to use. Categorization helps. I always categorize mine immediately except for templates which I can never figure out who wants to own them. That's one of the things I was exploring up here at the top of the information chain. That was my reason for the question as to why it wasn't categorized. Was there some incredibly mysterious underlying reason that everyone knew about but me in why it wasn't categorized? Do what you think best. Student7 20:32, 25 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

top 25?[edit]

by what criteria were these cities selected? Looks like population, but that's a hazy subject and different cities and states have different ways of counting. DaronDierkes (talk) 13:38, 2 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Just population. It's really not a big deal here; I was just trying to see what the article rankings (FA, A, GA, B, start, stub) of the 25 largest cities in the US were. Dr. Cash (talk) 15:31, 2 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
