Project-independent quality assessments[edit]

Quality assessments by Wikipedia editors rate articles in terms of completeness, organization, prose quality, sourcing, etc. Most wikiprojects follow the general guidelines at Wikipedia:Content assessment, but some have specialized assessment guidelines. A recent Village pump proposal was approved and has been implemented to add a |class= parameter to {{WikiProject banner shell}}, which can display a general quality assessment for an article, and to let project banner templates "inherit" this assessment.

No action is required if your wikiproject follows the standard assessment approach. Over time, quality assessments will be migrated up to {{WikiProject banner shell}}, and your project banner will automatically "inherit" any changes to the general assessments for the purpose of assigning categories.

However, if your project has decided to "opt out" and follow a non-standard quality assessment approach, all you have to do is modify your wikiproject banner template to pass {{WPBannerMeta}} a new |QUALITY_CRITERIA=custom parameter. If this is done, changes to the general quality assessment will be ignored, and your project-level assessment will be displayed and used to create categories, as at present. PMU and SMU[edit]

I noticed these articles, Power Management Unit (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) and System Management Unit (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views), they are written to seem to only exist on Macintosh computers, but PMUs and SMUs exist all over the place, not just as Apple parts. Shouldn't these be rewritten to show the wider world of PMUs and SMUs ? -- 64.229.90.172 (talk) 13:57, 14 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. You are welcome to expand those articles. Constant314 (talk) 14:01, 14 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Possible article merge? "Current sense monitor"[edit]

Greetings, While working on article de-orphaning, I found Current sense monitor, created November 2013 (10 years ago) (2013-11) and remaining just two short sentences. Asking for help here (outside my knowledge) to possibly merge into another article about portable battery products? It looks like good content, so it would be great to merge elsewhere rather than "Proposed deletion". Regards, JoeNMLC (talk) 19:12, 14 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Probably into current sensing? Hqb (talk) 19:46, 14 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

STATCOM article review[edit]

I've been working on the STATCOM article the past month or so, as it was listed as a Start. I think I've got it updated to a good level now but would appreciate any feedback. As Flexible AC Transmission devices are something I work with, I'll probably look into updating some of those other articles too. Thanks. Tombo12354 (talk · contribs) 29 June 2023

Assessd B by Tombo12354. That checks out but it is usually best to let others do the assessment of articles you've done significant work on. You can submit requests at Wikipedia:WikiProject_Electronics/Assessment#Requests_for_assessment. ~Kvng (talk) 18:22, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

This Radar side article is a bit unusual in my experience. Please contribute to discussion at Talk:Radar#Proposed_merge_of_Radar_engineering_details_into_Radar. ~Kvng (talk) 15:40, 3 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

18650 Battery revision[edit]

I just created Draft:18650_battery, could somebody take a look? I need help w/ battery chemistry + citations JayCubby (talk) 14:17, 4 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, this is a clearly notable subject and a competent stub that doesn't need to be in Draft space. I'm working on getting it accepted to mainspace so we can have contributions from the wider community. ~Kvng (talk) 16:42, 7 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you so much! I'm new to article-lvl WP editing, as you can probby tell. JayCubby (talk) 18:21, 7 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Unfortunately, my work on this was derailed by another reviewer. See discussion at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Articles_for_creation#Draft:18650_battery. ~Kvng (talk) 03:38, 17 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
sry to get back to you so late. No worries, looks like I'll have to raise a stink at wp:list of battery sizes. I just stick it in the talk page, no? JayCubby (talk) 20:03, 7 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Posting something at Talk:List of battery sizes might help if editors there are receptive to a new article. You could also try to resubmit for another WP:AFC review and see if it goes differently the second time. I still support accepting the draft but, for technical reasons, administrator help is needed on this one. ~Kvng (talk) 00:39, 8 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Infinite impulse response, pic error[edit]

Hello, not sure it this is correct way to report, but in image "IIR filter example" the a(n) coefs should read -a(n) IMHO. regards, devik 82.99.129.6 (talk) 07:31, 17 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Good article reassessment for HDMI[edit]

HDMI has been nominated for a good article reassessment. If you are interested in the discussion, please participate by adding your comments to the reassessment page. If concerns are not addressed during the review period, the good article status may be removed from the article. Thebiguglyalien (talk) 07:35, 24 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Talk:Samsung Pay[edit]

I've created a discussion on Talk:Samsung Pay asking whether Pay should be merged into Samsung Wallet. The company itself claims Pay and Pass services are now in one app named Wallet, but I'm not sure what it means in this context. Sparatys (talk) 14:39, 4 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Contributors needed for Bixby[edit]

The article Bixby (software) is severely lacking attention (for what is a current product by a major phone brand), it needs to be updated and probably rewritten to look more professional. There should also be a proper clarification about Bixby 'the voice assistant' and other Bixby branded tools like Bixby Vision.

I have tried to do the latter but am struggling with improving the article currently, so any contributors are welcome to improve this. Sparatys (talk) 20:34, 4 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Discrete components/logic/transistors terribly neglected[edit]

I got so frustrated by what I found when looking for an article on discrete components that I could point a student to, that I ended up penning this essay: Wikipedia:Redirects to nowhereReadOnlyAccount (talk) 03:55, 18 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Contributors needed for Samsung Galaxy S24[edit]

The draft Draft:Samsung Galaxy S24 needs to be updated with new information, I have only added the release date of the phones and Galaxy AI so far.

I am struggling to update the draft, if other contributors are happy, such as @Hajoon0102, who created the draft, they might do that. Yours sincerely, TechGeek105 (his talk page) 03:00, 9 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi all

I've started to improve Communications in the State of Palestine but this really isnt my area of expertise. Could someone who knows about this stuff also take a look, I know a lot is missing.

Thanks
