Introduction?[edit]

I'm just trying to get a feel for what will be done and what needs to be done. Since it seems everyone's rather new to the FA Team project, I don't know if folks kind of jump in and make suggestions or LOCE-type copy edits. There is a space for a coordinator, but I don't know if this project warrants one, if I should be acting as it, and what to do if I should.

I contacted the University of Florida Everglades and Research Education Center, Arthur Marshall Foundation, Sierra Club of South Florida, Audubon Society Everglades Chapter, and Friends of the Everglades for their input on the content. I would like to give them two weeks to respond.

Moni, I think that we're feeling our way around a little bit here. The FA-Team's first project, MMM, was somewhat atypical, and we need to find out a new way to approach things. Also, a couple of those who did quite a lot of coordination (formal and informal; I'm thinking of Wrad, Gguy, and Mike Christie, above all), have stepped back somewhat, for various reasons. I'm happy to do some informal coordination at present. Bear with us, if you will. --jbmurray (talkcontribs) 09:39, 1 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, jbmurray. I'm making these organizing statements for myself as much as for anyone else passing along. These articles tend to bleed into each other in my mind, and I'm trying to make it all clear. I understand the FA Team is a work in progress. Unfortunately, I didn't witness to the process when MMM articles went through, so I don't know how it worked. As each new project is proposed, a different approach is required I'm sure. So - whatever anyone needs me to do, I'll do. Thanks. --Moni3 (talk) 15:01, 1 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I have just sent out a blanket message to everyone on the team asking for help. Hopefully that will elicit some replies. Awadewit (talk) 13:17, 16 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
And it's already worked. Got the message, did a quick copyedit of "Drainage & Development" for MoS Dash Compliance (although it wouldn't hurt to take another look to ensure I got them all). I'll do the same for "Geography" and "Restoration" as time permits. Cam (Chat) 18:51, 16 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, I've finished "restoration" as well. Cam (Chat) 19:55, 16 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hi there. I reverted your changes on both articles, as you are introducing incorrect usage of en dashes, which, in this case, should remain hyphens. You might want to read up on WP:MOSDASH. Cheers, Juliancolton Tropical Cyclone 20:07, 16 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Whoah. Someone obviously told me the wrong endash guidelines a while back then. Cam (Chat) 22:05, 16 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Restoration Progress Track[edit]

Just so we can keep track of what everyone's done:

I've gone through and copyedited the MoS on the footnotes (usage of p. & pp. etc.). I also did a check of date consistency (although there weren't many WL dates in this one, so it was fairly easy). Cam (Chat) 22:28, 26 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • [I already moved a previous version of this to the "to do" list on the project page - please keep track there. Thanks. Awadewit (talk) 02:43, 27 June 2008 (UTC)][reply]
Currently, the FAC for Restoration of the Everglades is sitting at 4/1, although the concern raised is quite a major one (a pro-big-sugar bias is suspected of the article). <strike-heroic-pose>FA-TEAM TO THE RESCUE!</strike-heroic-pose>. Cam (Chat) 17:54, 30 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Drainage & Development on the Main-Page![edit]

Drainage & Development is on the Main Page! Given the hard work that this team put into it, this calls for a round of drinks!.

You've all earned these

I agree. I'll buy, especially because it doesn't cost me anything. --Moni3 (talk) 14:44, 22 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
