@Total Eclipse 2017:There is no *R bonus for blitzes and it isn't required to mark requests as such, but there's no problem if you want to voluntarily include that information. I think it might alert reviewers, as requests tend to be of higher quality and would arguably be the better articles to check. I also liked to have that data when I was doing the newsletters, though for complete data on the year-end reports I'd have to run a list comparison. Still, we want to keep this simple for the new copy editors, so strictly voluntary. – Reidgreg (talk) 13:51, 15 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I've gotten very bored after splitting this article from chronological order to subheadings. And I am stumped after Permalink/962549956 on dividing the political career section, and I just want to move onto the actual copyediting. Hi Can I Log In; the Political Career section has very few references... in fact there are only three refs in the entire article. There's also lots of puffery there, for example; "As a disinterested and free man, disdaining any partisan struggle, Salah Farhat becomes the spokesperson for the political conscience of Tunisia and defines the best interests of the country, with only one claim for the total independence of Tunisia. ". You can safely remove this puffery, which will make the article much shorter. In fact, you could quite legitimately reduce the article to a stub, but that's up to you. Missing references aren't strictly part of copy editing, although I do tend to add "citation needed" or "refimprove" tags where needed. If a sentence is borderline on whether it is encyclopedic (and I agree with Baffle that the passage quoted above should definitely go), I'll go ahead and cut it if there's no citation. Also, @Total Eclipse 2017:, note you *must* remove unreferenced text in biographies of living people (BLPs) if it is negative or potentially libelous, such as claims someone carried out a criminal or morally outrageous act (and should also be rev-deleted) i.e. "Fred Place-Holder robbed a bank in 1984". Now the MOS:/ guidelines say that slashes are to be avoided; MOS:ENBETWEEN doesn't address this either. Now you see why a slash would be fitting. I would normally do (Sub) Junior National Championship. There might be a clarity issue as to whether Sub Junior / Junior National Championship is the proper name for a tournament, or if it's talking about two simultanerous tournaments combined in one event, or separate tournaments. I could only load the second source, which seems to indicate that it is a proper name for a single (combined) tournament. So I would tend to not alter the name. Would it be any better to throw in some thes to introduce the complex noun phrase, like "Other major tournaments include the Sub Junior/Junior National Championship, the Mumbai Masters Open and the Indian Junior Open." – Reidgreg (talk) 23:05, 20 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Did I ~~cock it up~~ wear the juice and give the blitz an extra day? I closed the blitz and then saw... "It began on 14 June, at 00:00 (UTC), and will end on 21 June, at 23:59 (UTC)." Meghamalai forest area hosts a variety of birds, mammals, reptiles and butterflies. Resident and migratory elephants are also common. I cleared out some of the spam from that article the other day; I'd be inclined to remove most of the unreferenced text and lists, and just leave the main points intact with {{Unreferenced-section}} or {{Refimprove-section}} as needed. WP is not a tourist guide and we don't host spam here. I'm not so sure about your page move; It should probably remain at the Tamil title "Meghamalai" if that's the official name of the region. @Can I Log In: {{Example farm|section}} is another good maintenance template for cases like this. The list is not exhaustive (nor should it be), so there should be some citation and rationale for what is being listed and why. In the article, the preceding text notes that there are a variety of birds, mammals, reptiles and butterflies, but the listed examples are only birds and mammals. – Reidgreg (talk) 11:58, 22 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
