Opinion[edit]

I think, the 10k challenge is way too huge w.r.t to active editors in Indian wiki. 3000/5000 would have been better. See, this page has only 139 pageviews, and only 6 signed-up for the challenge. ❯❯❯ S A H A 08:02, 9 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

There's over 1 billion Indians... Millions who speak English. India is one of the most active countries on English wiki. You can't expect the challenge to get hundreds over night. The Indian cinema one is 2000 articles and doing very well. For a nationwide one covering a big country it seems reasonable. ArnabSaha and Encyclopædius..Well, first there is nothing to hurry, we can take as much time as we can, the Asian challenge itself started in 2016 if I am not wrong. The whole motive behind the challenge is to improve as much as article possible. So, does not matter, if 10,000 or 5,000, what matters is that through such challenge and project we end up improving many article which are stubs or has not been updated or improved for a long time. If I am not wrong, correct me Encyclopædius if I am, the GA/FL/FA noms of Indian articles are very low so far by my knowledge. This will boost the quality articles too. ArnabSaha Would be good if you just include articles which you've recently destubbed, expanded like double or tripple the existing length and improved, and improve does not mean just doing a few copy edits, improving an article significantly to improve it existing status, will be better if you can improve it to atleast B and if you can achieve GA or FA or for list a FL status would be very well. Dey subrata, I wrote a new article on Manapparai Murukku. In the project page I entered this as new article. In the talk page of the article I wrote as "New article written for Wikipedia:WikiProject India/The 10,000 Challenge. Will be improved in due course.". B Jambulingam, does not seem like a stub. It's already a start class. Good to go. And the article talk page does not have any project and class defined, add it and no need to add the 10,000 challenge thing in the talk page. Keep improving and keep creating. Quality articles list[edit]

Keep in mind, add articles which are about India only. There may be some article like Sun bear which may cover India but about a bigger continental or sub-continental region, don't add those articles. It will be better if you add those to Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge.

  • Destubbing
  • Created but not a stub.
  • Expanded significantly like twice and thrice the existing size of the article
  • Improving the article like improving significantly with citations, copyediting, cleanup to make a summarised one etc.
  • Improving the article to GA/FA/FL (or A) for the Quality articles list only.
  • DYK also for Quality articles list

Should I merge the individual incident articles into an article that lists all these incidents?[edit]

Hi,

List of alcohol poisonings in India has a list of alcohol poisoning incidents. All the articles of the incidents on these page are stubs. I'm planning to create Alcohol poisonings in India and list all the incidents in it. I'm not a very experienced editor so just want to confirm here, does that sound okay? Expanded to more than 1500 bytes but article still a stub?[edit]
