A bit off topic, but I would like to recommend that Gay stereotyping be made a collaberation, possibly in January above the other three. Those three, while in need of improvement, are at least decent; Gay stereotyping is a gigantic mess. Koweja 14:48, 14 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Gracious, Koweja, that article is a shambles. I would nominate it for Afd, myself, but if you think it can be helped, I am certainly willing to assist. Jeffpw 15:01, 14 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I agree that this one is in serious need of some work! -- SatyrTN (talk | contribs) 16:00, 14 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
A dreadful article. Shall we make it the collaboration until January and start our other three in the New Year? Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 16:32, 14 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I agree this should be top priorty. Since Koweja has pointed out the article Stereotypes of Africans/Blacks, which is about to survive its AfD, I've given up hope of seeing it deleted. In which case we might as well make a go of it. I would join in such a collaboration wholeheartedly. - WJBscribe (WJB talk) 01:05, 15 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Excellent. But, how about we extend the collaboration until the end of January. December is already half over as it is, and many people tend to be busy this time of the year even if they don't celebrate any of the holidays. I think that we manage to get this article up to standards it would be a perfect example of Wikipedia's ability to make the internet not suck. Koweja 01:35, 15 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
So which is it? Bisexuality or Gay stereotyping? We only have one day to decide... :) -- SatyrTN (talk | contribs) 01:55, 31 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Regretfully, I think Bisexuality has been pushed back to February. We need to set up diffs to show how much homosexuality chaged during it's month. Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 02:15, 31 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well the problem with Gay stereotyping has been "solved" using a tabula rasa approach. The article isn't a mess anymore because it's back to a stub. --Tiger MarcROAR! 21:24, 31 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The article has been renames/moved to Sexuality-based stereotypes. Koweja 20:52, 2 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination: Gay Games VII - urgent?[edit]

I want to nominate Gay Games VII as well. There is some urgency in getting this article worked on. Outgames happened in August and their web site has already been shut down. We lost easy access to a good source of information on the Outgames topic. I don't want the same thing to happen to the Gay Games article. Gay Games VII happened this past July and is now over. The Gay Games web site is up now so I want to suggest carpe diem! --Tiger MarcROAR! 20:53, 31 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Or you could just use Archive.org: http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.gaygameschicago.org/

LGBT as Featured Portal[edit]

How about we try to make the LGBT portal into a featured portal? It's probably too ambitious at this point, but something good for next summer or so. --Tiger MarcROAR! 21:53, 31 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've already proposed a version of this on the WP talkpage - do you want to go to the portal talkpage and agree a rota? Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 22:27, 2 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestions[edit]

Here are some articles for possible collaboration (in alphabetical order):

All of them needs some work and should be interesting topics.

Emiellaiendiay 03:22, 26 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If our membership continues to grow at 50 a month as it has been been, we will have around 300 members by June, which is which our previously agreed list runs out. So we can hold a vote on your suggested articles. Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 11:50, 28 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestions - June 2007[edit]

OK, I'll start the ball rolling with my own suggestion for our next collaboration: LGBT literature. This one needs a lot of contributions but is very important. TAnthony 19:58, 4 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm going to suggest Zackie Achmat. He's a gay, HIV+ South African, who was nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize for his HIV/AIDS activism. He got national attention when he publicly refused to take his AIDS medications until the government made them available to everyone. Queerudite 15:41, 11 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

... needs work and should be interesting. See its talk page for a todo list. Sai Emrys ¿? 20:28, 4 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

question[edit]

were would one ask for help from the group for an article that people are trying to delete SouthEast LeatherFest and I am not sure how to build the source for the event since it since I am pulling it from memory mostly. can I use the Leather journal does that count? sorry if I am posting this in the wrong spot I don't mean to do graffiti

Suggestions - July 2007[edit]

OK, I am suggesting that our next collaboration be LGBT literature. This article is meant to be a much-needed overview/analysis of the genre, in particular its history, but is now not much more than a list (which itself began as a jumping-off point, but editors continue to add authors and titles instead of actual content). I have been anxious for this article to be expanded, but unfortunately I am not knowledgable on the subject and haven't had time to do any research. Pending this article becoming a Collaboration, if anyone stumbles across anyone able to step to the challenge, please ask them. TAnthony 16:29, 15 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ok. I am concerned however about how much work would actually get done on this. People participating in the collaboration tend to copyedit and add the odd sentence, not construct detailed articles requiring research... 10:30, 24 June 2007 (UTC)

Collaboration August 2007[edit]

I propose Elizabeth Bishop. She was the Poet Laureate of the United States and is probably the greatest Lesbian poet of the Twentieth Century. I feel we should have a collaboration to get Elizabeth Bishop to FA status.

Tovojolo 13:43, 15 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello[edit]

Hello, I'm a New member, interested in all Lesbian issues. Is there anything I can do ? I'd like to get involved.

Vonita 19:56, 29 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Community Portal[edit]

This collaboration appears to be inactive so I am removing it from the community portal. If this becomes active again just add it back.--Banana 00:21, 10 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Just popping in to suggest Bayard Rustin for a future collaboration topic. Cheers! Ling.Nut (talk) 08:14, 30 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Suggest Matthew Shepard as a future collaboration topic. It is very close to GA and probably could make FA easily. Cheers! Wassupwestcoast (talk) 22:32, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Collaboration of the Month suggestion[edit]

I would like to nominate the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras for collaboration. The Sydney Mardi Gras is one of the largest and longest running annual, LGBT event. Currently the article is start class, has only 2 photos, 4 references and needs further citations. - Shiftchange (talk) 11:06, 28 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
