How many times does a single editor get to vote at any one time? I think we should limit it to three, with first choice, second choice, third choice. We can tally a first choice as three points and a third choice as one point. Marskell (talk) 10:12, 1 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'd support whatever system, although a simple "yes, I'll work on this article" or abstain otherwise will probably work pretty well too. I came to the talk page to raise the point that, as a matter of courtesy, we should probably notify editors who have been major contributors to the articles we're thinking of working on. For example with polar bear, it appears that User:Ytrottier did a huge amount of the research. He hasn't edited polar bear in several months, but hypothetically we could stumble across an article that someone else was hoping to take to FAC and we'd be pulling a Yomangani. --JayHenry (talk) 05:12, 5 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I noted something in the intro. It doesn't really matter. All one is doing by voting more than once is diluting the value of one's own vote. In essence, it is a good way of voting if one doesn't have a strong preference. I can see benefits in several articles and would be happy to work on just about any of them. If we're not sure about the effort to put in, Spotted Hyena must be close to a GA nom as is, though needs some more copyediting and referencing.
