Scope

I see some of the FAs are not explicitly tagged as MILHIST but indirectly by chaining the Cold War Wikiproject as a direct descendant of this task force it seems to show up in the states table. Does this mean that propaganda/PR aspects things like Ngo Dinh Diem presidential visit to Australia is a MILHIST FA 100%, indirectly?, or not at all? It is not tagged in either WP, but should be in the cold war one, which I will add now. YellowMonkey (cricket calendar poll!) paid editing=POV 04:04, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

The old WikiProject isn't actually a descendant; the stats table is somewhat confusing now because both the task force and the WikiProject are using the same categories for assessment, but any article might be tagged by one or the other, not necessarily both. That's not really something that can be fixed without merging the project here, in my view.
As far as scope itself is concerned, I'm not quite sure how we should approach this. Traditionally, we've included topics related to particular conflicts even if the topics themselves are not directly military (e.g. Polish culture during World War II). I suppose the difference is that the Cold War is significantly longer and more pervasive of an event than most of the other conflicts we deal with. I'd be tempted to say that, as a practical matter, we should include anything having to do with the broad conflict—whether or not it involves the military—as part of our "history of warfare" aspect, but that might be a matter which needs some broader discussion. DIA Military Art Collection

Hi. I have uploaded some files from the DIA Military Art Collection here. I think that they are great illustrations. You can help by using them in articles, or by uploading more from here.Ignacio Icke (talk) 15:35, 30 April 2010 (UTC)
