Red links[edit]

Hello. Is it useful to keep the links to portals which do not exist on the page? It is a list of things to do?

That would be one reason, yes. People sometimes use lists like these as a to-do list for pages needing to be created. — AfroThundr (tc) 17:56, 29 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Eventually split this list?[edit]

I wonder if now that there are a lot of city portals (and the number is likely to grow) if as the list expands it might be worth breaking it up into smaller lists (possibly by continent or in some cases nation?) Dunarc (talk) 21:50, 2 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Jerusalem[edit]

Due to the disputed nature of which power has sovereignty over Jerusalem, which I have just added to the list, I have put both the Israeli and Palestinian flags beside it for now. However if anyone thinks there is a better or more appropriate solution then please discuss. Dunarc (talk) 20:12, 17 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Brussels portal[edit]

I have removed Portal:Brussels from this list for now. Following a revamp it was removed from Category:Europe portals by city and as it seems to be more about the the Brussels-Capital Region and not the City of Brussels this would seem to be fair. Thus I think it also makes sense to take it off this list for now. Dunarc (talk) 22:36, 10 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Generally portals should be about Capital Regions or Metro Areas or whatever the grouping of communities is called. For example Portal:Greater Los Angeles. This will cut down on the urge to creat portals about small cities and overlapping content while focusing on a smaller number of higher quality introduction pages. This plan allows profiling of whole cities and large neighborhoods as featured content instead of high schools, highways and local parks which is what you are left with in a small city portal.
