Are there any SVGs on Wikipedia?[edit]
As far as I can tell, there aren't. Images are mostly in png format, svgs are automatically converted to png (with extension svg.png). Anyone think the concept of having actual svg images in Wikipedia articles would be interesting? - lucideer 06:19, 17 November 2008 (UTC)
Logos, Brands of the World, et al[edit]
I know this project seems fairly inactive, but y never know maybe someone'll stumble across this. So in case they do, I'll go ahead and ask. One of the stated goals of the project is "to upload sourced logos—... —to Wikipedia's articles". Given most logos are non-free and WP policy states that non-free images should preferably be low-res, is this really a prudent goal for this project to have? Merging to Images and media project[edit]
Seeing as this project only has four participants at the moment, is inactive for all I can tell, and is redundant to the Wikipedia:WikiProject Images and Media/Illustration taskforce, which was predated by the Illustration Project, I feel this project's functions should be merged to that taskforce. -Optigan13 (talk) 02:24, 17 March 2010 (UTC)
SVG Help volunteers needed[edit]
Awhile back the one user who maintained WP:SVG Help (a board dedicated to helping users with SVG image questions and problems) retired from Wikipedia. They marked the board as 'no longer maintained' and left forever. However, the board was very active and there's no problem with the concept of it. I've restored it to its previous version and marked it as inactive, but if anyone familiar with SVGs is willing to help out and watch the page, then we can get the board moving again. Comment on the WikiProject X proposal[edit]
Hello there! As you may already know, most WikiProjects here on Wikipedia struggle to stay active after they've been founded. I believe there is a lot of potential for WikiProjects to facilitate collaboration across subject areas, so I have submitted a grant proposal with the Wikimedia Foundation for the "WikiProject X" project. WikiProject X will study what makes WikiProjects succeed in retaining editors and then design a prototype WikiProject system that will recruit contributors to WikiProjects and help them run effectively.
