Auto-assessment of article classes

Following a recent discussion at WP:VPR, there is consensus for an opt-in bot task that automatically assesses the class of articles based on classes listed for other project templates on the same page. In other words, if WikiProject A has evaluated an article to be C-class and WikiProject B hasn't evaluated the article at all, such a bot task would automatically evaluate the article as C-class for WikiProject B.

If you think auto-assessment might benefit this project, consider discussing it with other members here. For more information or to request an auto-assessment run, please visit User:BU RoBOT/autoassess. This is a one-time message to alert projects with over 1,000 unassessed articles to this possibility. ~ RobTalk 01:25, 4 June 2016 (UTC)

Help with an article?

I was wondering if anyone could help look for sources for the article Art Supawatt Purdy. He's a Thai performer and as such, very little of the coverage will be in English. There's enough now to suggest that sourcing is probably out there, but there's not really a huge amount at the AfD that really passes RS scrutiny. Greekadoniz is doing a valiant job of trying to find sources that would hold up at AfD, but the problem here is that some of the sourcing is pretty weak and others might be usable but don't seem to have any sort of editorial oversight.

I think that this article and the AfD would really, really benefit from having some Thai speaking/reading editors helping look for sourcing. If the guy is notable the coverage is likely in Thai and I don't know that anyone at the AfD other than Greekadoniz knows Thai, so this severely limits our search power. Greekadoniz is new here, so he might not be as aware of RS guidelines as others would, so I really think that he'd benefit greatly from some assistance here. I think that Purdy might be notable - there's evidence to suggest that he could be, but at this point it'd really need a good amount of sourcing and likely the creation of articles for the Thai shows and films he's been in. Anyone willing to pitch in? I don't want this to get deleted if Purdy is actually notable, since I know that the language barrier has caused the demise of several articles that would otherwise pass notability guidelines if fluent editors were sought out. Province capitals

Hi. I've started a discussion on whether we should remove listings of province capitals from related articles. Please see the discussion at Talk:Provinces of Thailand#Province capitals Thank you. --Paul_012 (talk) 14:34, 21 October 2016 (UTC)

National park information moved or no longer available at DNP site

There was formerly quite extensive information on individual parks, in Thai and English, at the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation (DNP) website. Such as here (archived) for Kaeng Krachan. Such links now yield 404s and the most recent successful archives are from earlier in 2016. Looks like the site was reorganised sometime this year. Going into the site from its root didn't yield anything for me nor did Google searches. However, I don't read Thai and so I'm wondering if anyone here has an idea where this material might have gone. Thanks Declangi (talk) 05:39, 17 November 2016 (UTC)

The DNP has somewhat confusingly had information scattered among multiple websites for some time. The www.dnp.go.th/parkreserve site you mentioned seems to have been reorganised into http://nps.dnp.go.th/ . The park information has been moved to http://nps.dnp.go.th/parks.php , but the drop-down box doesn't appear to work in English. There's also the park.dnp.go.th site, which has a different set of write-ups for each park at http://park.dnp.go.th/visitor/indexnationpark.php , but is only available in Thai. The English link on that site goes to this PDF of the National Parks in Thailand book, which will probably work best as a reference. --Paul_012 (talk) 07:08, 17 November 2016 (UTC)
Many thanks, Paul_012, that's clarified things a lot. Using the http://nps.dnp.go.th/parks.php URL now allows for direct links to park information pages such as here for Kaeng Krachan. The text there looks to have been directly copied/moved from the old page I referenced above. The former Attractions subpages don't seem to have made it, but the PDF you note (a version of which also existed in the old site) has some of that info for each park. Thanks for deciphering things. Category:1st millennium in Thailand

Input from WP:THAI has been requested at a WP:CFD discussion. You may find it at Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2016 November 21#Category:1st millennium in Thailand. Thanks, -- Tavix (talk) 15:29, 21 November 2016 (UTC)

Any help on the above appreciated! I've done all I can but know little about Thailand let alone its politics. It was created by User:22sep who has been struggling with CoI issues ever since. He/she is friend of the subject's grandson. There's also Draft:Thita Manitkul created by User:Panda m.—the son—that needs looking at too. 22sep's talk page contains my recent correspondence with him/her. Thanks Iadmc (Jubileeclipman) (talk) 13:26, 26 November 2016 (UTC)

I heard from my friend that you need information. By the way it heard his feeling to sound like girl. When I look through my grandfather article about the word you code .He was saying I ask my grandpa He said it probably was not him because he was really busy at that time to go to survey conference. You can probably tell from the sources you find.It probably the Duputy Minister who he thought was friend at that time told the reporter that he said (he probably was not there)at that exact even ,also provide his email to get him involved in the scandals . Would you please provide us what exactly source you got it from? Please provide us so he could get the apology from the newspaper and clear his name. Thank you Panda m. (talk) 02:22, 27 November 2016 (UTC)

I think he's talking about the quote in the article about homosexuals. The source is clearly linked in the article after the quote, Panda. Click the number and it will jump to the link which you can then click to read the source. Thanks Iadmc (Jubileeclipman) (talk) 21:06, 27 November 2016 (UTC)

2016 Community Wishlist Survey Proposal to Revive Popular Pages

Greetings WikiProject Thailand/Archives/2016 Members!

This is a one-time-only message to inform you about a technical proposal to revive your Popular Pages list in the 2016 Community Wishlist Survey that I think you may be interested in reviewing and perhaps even voting for:

If the above proposal gets in the Top 10 based on the votes, there is a high likelihood of this bot being restored so your project will again see monthly updates of popular pages.

Further, there are over 260 proposals in all to review and vote for, across many aspects of wikis.

Thank you for your consideration. Please note that voting for proposals continues through December 12, 2016.

Best regards, SteviethemanDelivered: 18:09, 7 December 2016 (UTC)

irrelevant, off-topic posts

i think the one who mass up with us is from wiki thailand Our Draft:Sukavich Rangsitpol is link to th:สมัย เจริญช่าง in stead of th:สุขวิช รังสิตพล — Preceding unsigned comment added by 22sep (talkcontribs) 12:48, 14 December 2016 (UTC)

@22sep: I've dealt with the interwikis. It's difficult to see where the problem is at times. I think they aught to be removed actually apart from the the one to his Thai article. Does Kudpung กุดผึ้ง's project interest you? Go to his talk page if so — Iadmctalk  13:13, 14 December 2016 (UTC)

I think its the corruption politician is afraid the truth will come out through the article we wrote.--22sep (talk) 13:28, 14 December 2016 (UTC)
