Is "brighttv.co.th" a reliable source?

In trying to respond to this edit request, a source provided was https://www.brighttv.co.th/entertain/love-for-our-lisa. Is this considered a reliable source? Elliot321 (talk | contribs) 21:09, 20 January 2021 (UTC)

Elliot321, it's a former national terrestrial TV station, now operating as a web-only news site, so it should be reliable (though not necessarily unbiased) at least for general factual reporting. I won't rate it very highly among online news sites though (and the bar for Thai news websites isn't that high, especially with entertainment news). That said, the requested fact seems quite trivially verifiable, so it should be reliable enough for that at least. The fact also appears in English sources such as [1] and [2], though these appear to be sponsored pieces. --Paul_012 (talk) 06:06, 21 January 2021 (UTC)

First woman/women in parliament

I was wondering if anyone could clear up some contradictory info in different sources on the first Thai woman/women in parliament. According to The Almanac of Women and Minorities in World Politics, two women (Lekha Aphaiwong and La-iad Phibunsongkhram) were appointed to the Senate in November 1947, and Orapin Chaiyakan was the first woman elected to the House of Representatives in 1949. However, according to the Chronicle of Thailand, Aphaiwong and Phibunsongkhram were appointed to the Senate in June 1949, shortly after Chaiyakan was elected, which would make her the first woman in parliament. Any ideas which is correct? Cheers, Number 57 19:31, 21 January 2021 (UTC)

According to the Thai Wikipedia (I haven't cross-checked the sources yet), the two women were appointed on 21 June 1949 to fill vacancies left by a series of resignations on 15 June. The senators they replaced had been appointed in November 1947, so that's probably the source of confusion by the Almanac. --Paul_012 (talk) 11:59, 22 January 2021 (UTC)
That would make sense. Thank you. Number 57 12:25, 22 January 2021 (UTC)

New Page Patrol

New Page Patrol needs experienced volunteers
  • New Page Patrol is currently struggling to keep up with the influx of new articles, including Thailand related articles. We could use a few extra hands on deck if you think you can help.
  • Reviewing/patrolling a page doesn't take much time but it requires a good understanding of Wikipedia policies and guidelines; Wikipedia needs experienced users to perform this task and there are precious few with the appropriate skills. Even a couple reviews a day can make a huge difference.
  • If you would like to join the project and help out, please see the granting conditions and review our instructions page. You can apply for the user-right HERE. --John B123 (talk) 14:46, 23 May 2021 (UTC)
