Userbox-r template

Can someone possibly add the "float" tag capability that exists in Template:Userbox? Many thanks. (See here: User:StevenJ81/userbsd2, but I accomplished this by subst: and manually changing the float. It would be good not to have to do that.) StevenJ81 (talk) 16:18, 14 March 2013 (UTC)

Waterborne transport

If there is a gallery of userboxes about waterborne transport? The Wikipedia:Userboxes/Transportation gallery seems to include only land transport. There is a Wikipedia:Userboxes/Aviation gallery that offers a lot of specialist userboxes but I have found no equivalent gallery for water transport, either maritime or inland. For civilian waterborne transport, all I have found so far is {{User:UBX/sailing}}, {{User:UBX/boating}} and the {{Template:User WikiProject Ships}} membership userbox. There are also a few naval userboxes: {{User:Aerobird/Battleship Userbox}}, {{User:LightSpectra/Userboxes/NW}} and {{User:Aerobird/600 Ships Userbox}}.

I am looking for userboxes to express a number of interests: merchant shipping, sailing ships, motor ships, electric boats, narrowboats, boat building, shipbuilding, canals and other inland waterways. Is there an entire gallery that I have missed?

Best wishes, Motacilla (talk) 12:00, 2 April 2013 (UTC)

I don't think we have that, yet, but you could start one using the aviation page as a template! - Ahunt (talk) 13:03, 2 April 2013 (UTC)

Help needed with Media/Books list

The page Wikipedia:Userboxes/Media/Books has some serious formatting issues in and after the section The Lord of the Rings and related books. At a guess, the problem is in the transcluded boxes, but I haven't been able to isolate the problem. I'm hoping some of the experts here wouldn't mind poking around a bit. TechBear | Talk | Contributions 14:33, 18 April 2013 (UTC)

I checked it over and the page formatting looks okay. I have seen this sort of thing before and what I think has happened is that there is a limit to the number of transclusions that the software will display on a page. The solution is to split the page into two pages. - Ahunt (talk) 00:09, 19 April 2013 (UTC)

Userbox for BMW vehicles?

I was wondering are there userboxes for BMW vehicles? I now drive one and would like to update my userbox page with that. Thank you in advance. Allen (Morriswa) (talk) 09:53, 3 June 2013 (UTC)

Thank you for your question, they are found at Wikipedia:Userboxes/Cars#BMW. Do let me know if there are no suitable ones there and I can make a better one up for you, if need be! - Ahunt (talk) 12:14, 3 June 2013 (UTC)

Could it be that this page has become overcrowded? At least there's a major display problem in the Hardware section with lots of boxes not being shown through the ubks template. I've tried to search for unpaired top/bottom templates but that doesn't seem to be the case. I guess we need to move some load off this page to another subpage. It looks like the number of allowable transclusions on a page was recently changed and that has caused many of the userbox pages to not display right. Several of us have been splitting these recently to fix the problem - it looks like you have found another page that needs this done. I may get to this later on today. - Ahunt (talk) 13:50, 11 June 2013 (UTC)
Got that Ahunt? If not, I can get it shortly. Technical 13 (talk) 14:05, 11 June 2013 (UTC)
It may take me a while to get to it today, so please do go ahead and fix it if you have time sooner! - Ahunt (talk) 14:06, 11 June 2013 (UTC)

Great work, that seems to have fixed it! I added the nav box and a cat to the new page and added it to my watchlist as well. Thanks for splitting it! - Ahunt (talk) 14:44, 11 June 2013 (UTC)
Excellent. Thanks a lot! De728631 (talk) 19:48, 11 June 2013 (UTC)

Need graphic-talented person: new User Box ideas

I'm an editor — not talented or knowledgeable graphically (not creative in that way).

I'd like to suggest a few new user boxes, but don't know who to suggest them to. I'd like to pass my ideas on to someone who enjoys making user boxes. My ideas are for ones about: 1) Food Gardener ; 2) Handyman (or Handyperson) ; Community Volunteer (with reference to the IRL community they live in). If any of these exist, I have not located them. But I think they'd be good. Thanks.Joel Russ (talk) 19:04, 16 August 2013 (UTC)

Userboxes are misaligned

When I try to put in userboxes, for some reason, they're different sizes. Can anybody please help me? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Philroc (talkcontribs) 15:00, 18 August 2013 (UTC)

I think that is because the boxes you selected are different heights! You might try displaying them in a template as I have done on my user page, that way differing heights don't matter as they are columned vertically. Let me know if you want help trying that out! - Ahunt (talk) 15:10, 18 August 2013 (UTC)
