Gertrud Natzler[edit]

I don't have the knowhow to do this, but am wondering if the existing article for Otto Natzler should be retitled to include Gertrud's name, a la Charles and Ray Eames. This would be consistent with how their works are credited in major museum collections, etc. This is a great project! StaceyEOB (talk) 04:03, 5 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@StaceyEOB: Hi Stacey, yes that seems to make sense based upon the content of the article. The only thing is there are two spellings of her name: Gertrud and Gertrude. Which is correct?--CaroleHenson (talk) 00:16, 29 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@CaroleHenson: Hi Carole, I believe it is "Gertrud"—that's the spelling used by museum collections, and it's consistent with the spelling on the Otto Natzler page. So my feeling is that it should be a page for Getrud & Otto Natzler or a new page for Gertrud Amon Natzler.[1] Does that seem right to you?
@StaceyEOB: I think it makes sense to use Gertrud and Otto Natzler, because as you said, they made their works together.--CaroleHenson (talk) 03:45, 29 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Diana Al-Hadid[edit]

I edited the article on Diana Al-Hadid to remove non-cited entries, extraneous entries and to add content. I hope this helps the project. Megalibrarygirl (talk) 23:40, 16 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I will put this edit on the talk page. This tak page is about the worklist itself, not the articles listed on it (and I am thinking maybe the lists should move out too, to some sublist. I don't see the point of keeping a random list - we already have categories for stubs/c/b/a class etc, which should be enough! Jane (talk) 07:17, 26 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Barbara Bloemink[edit]

I am looking for Editors to Please help my Edit my entry on the artist FLORINE STETTHEIMER that is on my User:Barbarabloemink/sandbox page. It necessitates someone who is somewhat familiar with artists/art history and at least interested in the idea of correcting the history of women's artists so they are given more complete Factual entries. The difficulties and problems I have had and am very much in need of assistance are as follows:

1) A man wrote a fanciful book on Stettheimer 2 decades after her death which is virtually unreadable where he admits in the book that he "exaggerated" and even "made up" certain things about her and her life as he only met her once when she was quite elderly. None the less, for the last 55 years, significant museum curators, art critics, writers have repeated his exaggerations, alternate facts, and untruths about the artists in publications and museum catalogs that are used as sources in the current Wikipedia entry on Stettheimer written by a graduate student (whom I know). This includes something as blatant as stating that Stettheimer "wanted her paintings buried with her when she died" when, ithis is totally untrue, and her will and her lawyer (whom I personally interviewed in 1995) prove the falacy of this as I state clearly in my biography of the artist. (Yale Press, 1995)

2) In 1995, by contrast, as my PhD dissertation and I wrote the first biography (and factual description of her life and location, dating of her work and identification of the figures in her paintings) of Florine Stettheimer, which is referred to by virtually all the scholarly articles and subsequent references on her in which I used only primary sources of her own writing (diaries and correspondence) and those of her friends, family, and sources during her lifetime. I have since written over ten other essays about the Stettheimer and co-currated the first Retrospective of the artist at the Whitney Museum of Art since her memorial one in 1944 at MOMA.

3) I attempted to correct the inaccurate and untrue statements in the current Stettheimer Wikipedia entry And add a great deal more content to explain why she and her work are significant, and what new importance she plays as an early feminist painter and site many additional sources that I and others have published that are factually correct and based on primary research. (see the content I have written in "User: Barbarabloemink/sandbox." However the Wikjpedia editor deleted everything I wrote, stating that I was not allowed to delete other sources as Wikipedia was a collaborative source of information and so offered different opinions in the information it published. Another editor stated that although I have written all the primary books and articles on Stettheimer, I cannot not cite myself as a source "too many times;" despite the fact that I am the recognized, international "expert" on Florine Stettheimer's work.

My only recourse, thanks to the suggestion of JohnInDC, was to write a factual, accurate, entry on Stettheimer on User: BarbaraBloemink/sandbox, and approve the more accurate and content-based entry, and replace the one currently in place which is 1) Inaccurate as it emphasizes everything EXCEPT what is important about Stettheimer as an Artist and her Work!!! 2) Includes Untrue information.

My Only Desire Is to have an Entry on Florine Stettheimer that Provides Information on this Highly Important Early Feminist Artist that is Accurate, and Factual for Future Students, Scholars, and Interested Readers!

I would be greatly appreciative of any Editors' assistance in reading over and approving any or all of the content on User:Barbarabloemink/sandbox page in place of what is currently on the Wikipedia Stettheimer page. Then anyone at all can add to it, but at Least what is in Wikipedia on Stettheimer will be Truthful and Accurate.

Thank you in advance for your help with this. Barbarabloemink (talk) 20:01, 18 January 2019 (UTC)BarbaraBloemink January 18 2019Barbarabloemink (talk) 20:01, 21 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
