The 1983 Welwyn Hatfield District Council election took place on 5 May 1983 to elect members of Welwyn Hatfield District Council in England.[1] This was on the same day as other local elections. Around a third of the seats on the council were up for election. The results were relatively uneventful - the Conservatives gained a seat from Labour, but still fell very short of threatening Labour's majority on the council.
