Almacenes Vivero was a supermarket chain in Colombia founded in 1969 by Alberto Azout.[1]The chain was made defunct in 2009 and all locations converted to Éxito.

History[edit]

Almacenes Vivero was started in 1969 by Alberto Azout, in a location in the 77th street in Barranquilla. The chain was originally a clothing store, where they sell shirts, pants, and more. At the time, was putting more sections. In 1995, the chain converts into a supermarket with new sections. In the year 2000, Vivero and Carulla makes to merge and creating the retail Carulla Vivero. In 2001, the logo was changed into his symbol with a red piece and two pieces of blue, shaping the v and his wordmark changed like drawing. Sometimes in 2006 or 2007, Almacenes Éxito buys Carulla and Vivero. In 2008, all locations starting to convert to Éxito until 2009 that was disappeared.
