Asara District (Persian: بخش آسارا) is in Karaj County, Alborz province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Asara.[3]

At the 2006 census, its population (as a part of Tehran province) was 18,856, in 5,407 households.[4] The census of 2016 counted 17,150 people in 5,977 households,[2] by which time the county had separated from the province and become a part of recently established Alborz province.[5]
