On 18 August 2024, a Palestinian terrorist blew himself up in Tel Aviv, injuring 1 person.
Attack
[edit]The attack happened on Lehi Street, near a synagogue; it is suspected that the explosion was caused by a botched bomb.[1]
Reactions
[edit]Israel Police identified Jafar Muna as the bomber.[2]
Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad both claimed responsibility.[3] Both groups have threatened more bombings.[4]
Yahya Ayyash, the Hamas engineer responsible for bringing suicide bombings to the forefront of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in particular and Islamic terrorism in general, was trending on Arab social media following the attack.[5]
