Austin Njiribeako Nosike (born 23 March 1972) is a Nigerian Professor of Economics and Management and the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics and Research) at International University of Equator (IUE),Bujumbura-Burundi.[1][2]

Early life and education

He was born in Emii-Owerri North, Imo State, Nigeria. After his primary and secondary education, he attended the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and graduated with BSc degree in 1993.He received graduate education at Imo State University, Owerri; Rivers State University of Science and Technology and International Institute of Human Rights, Strasbourg-France. He attended the Central University of Nicaragua, Managua, where he obtained a PhD in Economics. He holds MSc in Finance and Accounting and a PhD in Business Administration from Universidad Azteca, Mexico.[3]

Career

Nosike's career cuts across journalism, administration, and academic. He worked as a Freelance Reporter for Daily Star Newspapers and later as Assistant Editor at Newsflash Magazine. He began his lecturing career in 1994 at Kaduna Polytechnic and later as visiting lecturer at Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna, between 1995 and 1996.[4][5]

He worked as Dean, School of Graduate Studies at University of Kigali, Kigali-Rwanda and taught at Uganda Pentecostal University, Fort Portal. He has held the position of Director of Research and Innovations at Metropolitan International University (MIU) and served as Visiting Professor at Kigali Independent University and Uganda Technology and Management University (UTAMU).[6]

He was earlier appointed as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics and Research), by the Copperstone University (CU), Kitwe, Zambia. He is presently serving as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics and Research), at the International University of Equator (IUE), Burundi.[7]

On 23 October 2024, Namibia's highest education regulatory body, the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE), appointed him as the Chairperson for institutional audit exercise at Welwitchia University, Windhoek-Namibia.[8][9][10]

Authorship

He has published books and several academic articles in locally and internationally, including: “Inflation and Nigerian Investment Growth: Engle-Granger Two Step Modeling (EGM) Approach” and “Total Government Spending on Agriculture and its Output Growth in Nigeria” among others.[11] He has also served as editor of several international journals.

Personal life

He is a Catholic and married with children.[12][13]
