The governor of the Regency of Algiers wanted to eliminate Ottoman Tunisia once and for all. For this reason, he prepared a campaign to seize the city of Tunis. It seems that the campaign failed and the siege on Tunis was repelled. The Algerian forces fled, leaving behind much equipment and many treasures.[1][2]

The battle

[edit]

The Algerian forces wanted to compensate for the losses, so they fled, and when Hussein, the bey of Tunis, saw this, he chased them to the city of Majaz al-Bab, where he met them, defeated them, and returned successfully and victoriously to Tunis.[1][3]
