Black Forest is an extinct town in Elko County, in the U.S. state of Nevada.[1]

History[edit]

The first settlement at Black Forest was made in 1872.[2] A post office was established at Black Forest in 1926, and remained in operation until 1943.[3][4] The community was named for the dark character of the forest near the original town site.[2]
