BridgeWay Station is a mixed-use development in Mauldin, South Carolina. It hosts 7 restaurants, 200,000 square feet of apartments, and an amphitheater.[1]

History

[edit]

BridgeWay Station was developed by Phil Hughes in an attempt to attract people to Mauldin and as a social space. Groundbreaking took place in 2021.[2] The complex opened on April 27, 2024, and the ceremony was attended by South Carolina Lieutenant Governor Pamela Evette.[3]

A bridge was built over Interstate 385 and dubbed "Harambe Bridge", after pictures and tributes to a gorilla that was killed in 2016 and became an internet meme, appeared on the bridge. The bridge was officially named the "Mauldin Gateway Bridge".[4]

A new stadium for the Greenville Triumph was proposed to be built on the site.[5][6]
