The Jewish referred to here is not specifically limited to the religion of the columnist nor to the Yiddish Language (the name of the language means Jewish). Historically there was a type of advice column, published in Yiddish newspapers well before World War II, a major dividing line in this area, of which the best known was called "A Bintel Brief."

This category could refer to Advice columnists who are Jewish, but the initial entry, for Dr. Morris Mandel, is meant largely for the meaning that his columns (Youth Speak Up; Problems in Human Emotions) were in some way in the mold of the old style "A Bintel Brief" columns that appealed to Yiddish Langugage newspapers' immigrant readers.
