This category is designed to allow an easier searching of the many pieces, prose and verse, Rudyard Kipling by grouping those that are set in India. These were mostly written before he left in 1889.

Various sub-categories are envisaged. The prose fiction is mostly grouped as category:Rudyard Kipling stories about India, and the verse mostly as category:Rudyard Kipling poems about India - though as T.S. Eliot pointed out (A Choice of Kipling's Verse), much of Kipling's verse is only a different medium in which to tell a story. The two categories will contain sub-categories to group writings with different themes and focuses; and others as they come to seem useful.
