Complaint about the Anachronistic Nationalization of the Category[edit]

I would argue that the recent division of this category into national subdivisions gives a rather anachronistic view of sixteenth-century medical history. Many of these figures are quite difficult to categorize in modern national terms (especially Austrians/Germans, Germans/Poles, Germans/Swiss, Flemings/Hollanders/Germans). I think we would be better off to revert to the larger category which corresponds to the current French and German language Wikipedia category pages, and I would submit is much more useful to the students and scholars of early modern medicine.
