Contested deletion[edit]

This category should not be speedy deleted as being unpopulated, because it's no longer unpopulated! In fact, the editor proposing the deletion could have just looked in the parent category for all of the New York-related articles that people dumped there because Category:1834 establishments in New York didn't exist when they originally categorized them! I guess it's just easier to tag and let someone else do the work... --DanielPenfield (talk) 00:34, 21 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

For what its worth, go ahead and remove the tag. Its fine. But the category was empty when I tagged it. Now its not, so feel free and remove the Speedy tag. Kumioko (talk) 00:47, 21 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Perhaps in the future you can examine a category's parent for articles that really belong in the category you believe to be "empty" before proposing its deletion? -- DanielPenfield (talk) 05:26, 21 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Perhaps, but in the process of doing that one deletion, I created about 400 others. I was bound to make a mistake somewhere along the line. Sorry it had to be this one. :-) Kumioko (talk) 11:52, 21 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
