Vague category[edit]

What is the criteria for being a California actor? Born in california? Have a house in california? Once lived in California? Pay California taxes? --MarsRover 05:37, 27 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This purpose of the category is to be part of the scheme of Category:California people by occupation and subdivide the category Category:People from California. So basically if the article would otherwise appear in Category:People from California and the person is an actor, then they appear in this category. Dugwiki 15:15, 27 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

In combining those categories it lost the criteria of "from" which means a lot. Many actors (once they make their millions) move to malibu, hollywood hills, etc. so they should not go in this category. They are not "from" california. --MarsRover 16:58, 29 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That would be an issue for Category:People from California. Basically this is a subcategory of that, so articles should only appear here if they qualify to appear under Category:People from California. If you find an article about someone that you don't think should be listed as "from California", then simply change the California related categories to the appropriate state. This subcategory, though, is very clear in its inclusion criteria - it is subdividing Category:People from California. Dugwiki 15:21, 30 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Picking up on the last point above, if someone is NOT in the Category:People from California, then they should not be in this California actors category. Right??
