Country metal redirect.

[edit]

Country metal currently redirects here, however, I believe it should either be turned into an article of its own, or redirected to country rock with a section devoted to it (this'll work until enough sourcing can be built-up to turn it into a standalone article). I had a section devoted to it on the aforementioned page, but it was a stub, and FMSky reverted it. For that section, I described country metal as deriving from nu metal, hard rock, and country rock, however, that may be incorrect. Yes, artists such as Hardy blend country and nu metal together, but, it doesn't mean country metal is derived from nu metal. See Rebel Meets Rebel as an example; blending straightforward heavy metal with straightforward country.

Also, wherever country metal ends up, whether it be its own page, or a section on country rock, metalbilly should be recreated and redirected to wherever country metal goes to, since, from what I've seen so far, they are related in some form (see Volbeat for an example of this). Idk if there is any sourcing out there to describe what exactly metalbilly entails (other than an obvious guess of heavy metal fused with rockabilly), but, it does have its own Wiktionary entry, so, I guess having the redirect would ensure consistency amongst the Wikimedia projects.

What are your guy's thoughts on the matter? Should we open another Redirects for Discussion on country metal? Your thoughts appreciated! Moline1 (talk) 16:02, 13 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I see no need to open another RFD, as I believe the first one summed it rather well. All that needs to be done is exactly what you said: create an article of its own, or redirect to country rock with a section devoted to it. Until that happens, I would just stick with the outcome of the initial RFD. Thanks. StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 08:04, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I went BOLD and recreated the country metal section on country rock. Country metal now redirects to there instead of here. Moline1 (talk) 17:06, 26 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
