The term 'monk' does not include the Mendicant Orders. I have accordingly deleted Richard Brinkley, who rightly has an entry under Franciscans----Clive Sweeting -and other Franciscans, Dominican, Carmelites, thoroughly noteworthy persons in their own right. For the English middle ages and for the Roman Catholic Church the distinction is relatively clear. Could qualified persons assist in determining members of which Anglican religious orders are eligible to be so called----Clive Sweeting
