Should it be renamed to "Surveillance in fiction"?[edit]

Moving this category to just "Category:Surveillance in fiction" would have the advantage that it then could include all works of fiction that are about surveillance but not mass surveillance. Also instead of renaming it could also simply become a subcategory of a new category "Surveillance in fiction".

Also not entirely sure if "mass surveillance in fiction" should also include works of fiction depicting surveillance only at a more targeted level with there however being a potential for mass surveillance? For instance take the movie Enemy of the State – as far as I can recall it doesn't depict mass surveillance as in monitoring masses but an apparatus that allows for anyone to be effectively monitored...

While I would consider your proposal interesting, the current definition on common surveillance includes phone surveillance and stakeouts. Would the new criteria actually include every cop show which uses those tropes? Dimadick (talk) 20:56, 9 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
