Games a subcategory of Personal life as well as of Culture

[edit]

I've added Games as a subcategory of Personal life as well as of Culture. Entertainment is similarly dual-categorized. Glad to discuss! -- Sitearm | Talk 02:25, 2005 August 23 (UTC)

Chess?

[edit]

I would expect it to be in a category such as "board games" or "strategy games" off this page. Neither subcategory exists.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 198.240.130.75 (talkcontribs) 19:44, 15 December 2005

Good plan. I added Board Games to this category.--BlueNovember (talk contribs) 21:39, 27 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
No, all games are in broad categories. Chess is a tabletop game, as are board games, as are card games, etc etc. The sub-categories were created for a reason. 2005 (talk) 00:02, 28 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Gaming?

[edit]

Shouldn't this category be Gaming? There are many of articles and subcategories in this category that aren't games. Ex: Game artists, Game designers, Years in games -Ravedave 18:39, 25 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No, because all those things are still game-related. Likewise, "verb" isn't a lanuage, even though it ultimately falls under that category, and Michael Jordan isn't a basketball, even though he ultimately falls under that category. — Lenoxus " * " 04:20, 24 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, now it's a subcategory of Gaming. Is this reorganization being discussed somewhere? -- Parody 02:47, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Games by country, anyone?--Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus Talk 06:02, 29 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sports category

[edit]

The Games category has recently been removed from the sports category. That may be a correct choice, but then, shouldn't Sports be added to Games instead?--Niels Ø 13:41, 13 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Not necessarily. I think the split was due to the size of the two categories, but allowing them to remain independent deals with the size issue. *Cremepuff222* 01:12, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Teagames

[edit]

What about this article on teagames? its not a game - but how should it be classified?? philb 17:00, 20 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I would recommend placing it one of the Category:Websites subcategories since the article itself isn't about a game. *Cremepuff222* 01:11, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dice games

[edit]

Why doesn't Category:Dice games appear on this list? --BlueNovember (talk) 13:58, 23 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Added it to the list --BlueNovember (talk contribs) 21:36, 27 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Dice games fall under tabletop games. Specific subcategories are under broader categories. 2005 (talk) 00:03, 28 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
