Proposed move/renaming[edit]

I propose the speedy renaming of the category from Garda Síochána operations to Irish Garda Síochána operations

As the Garda Síochána operations and other law enforcement articles continue to appear on more and more internationally linked pages in english, there is the need to be WP:concise and WP:consistent for readers not familiar with the agency. As an example, the United States Immigrations and Customs Enforcement isn't just called Immigrations and Customs Enforcement. It uses the prefix U.S. (for example Category:U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations) to ensure readers are able to quickly recognize the home country of the law enforcement agency without being forced to check each article that contains the names of multiple national law enforcement agencies.eximo (talk) 13:13, March 23, 2024‎ (UTC)

Opposed speedy move request[edit]

@Marcocapelle There was one vote for, and one vote against. @AusLondonder made a point that only supports that the page should not be changed because there is a page associated with the LEA of the same name. The reasons given in aligned with my first argument under WP:concise and WP:consistent dictates that both pages utilize a name that is inconsistent. AusLondonder cited the Category:U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations and Category:U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, which utilize the prefix of the Country. Therefore, he has sustained the argument that to be consistent, we should be using a prefix to indicate the Garda Síochána is Irish.
I'm unclear why Marcocapelle removed the speedy rename tag and found for the opposition to the change when the arguments based in logic did not support the opposition beyond the mere recognition that there was a second page that was just as inconsistent as the first and both fail for the same reasons given in the first argument.
