Ugh. I wish I'd seen this earlier. There are no "horse racing tracks" in the United Kingdom - there are plenty of racecourses, though. Varitek 15:31, 12 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

This name was agreed as a compromise for all countries. In the U.S. they have horse race tracks, but the category is Category:Horse racing venues in the United States.

I'd like to try and bring some order to these pages, I think there should be some regular format to the different racecourse pages.

I'd suggest something like:

Description

[edit]

What type of course it is(as in level throughout, uphill straight, stuff like that), size, handedness, any unusual features such as figure-of-eight.

History

[edit]

Just brief histories at first, which could be expanded later

Major Races

[edit]

What should qualify here? Pattern races. Listed and above? How would that pick up major handicaps?

Other

[edit]

Particualrly notable renewals of races, horses associated with the track. Maybe the section title should be Trivia.

Any suggestions/observations? Ruudboy 00:16, 17 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
