Not a valid IUCN category?[edit]

Please forgive me if I'm missing something here, but it seems to me that a category called Lower Risk (LR) is listed in section IV of the IUCN's 1994 Categories & Criteria, version 2.3. Category LR may no longer be valid according to v3.1 of this document, and new assessments may no longer use LR, but that doesn't mean it's invalid. LR still applies to some species, such as Vipera raddei, which were assessed earlier using v2.3. So, why does this Wikipedia category exist? --Jwinius 03:23, 31 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for the slow reply. Yes, we still use 2.3 categories BUT in the case of LR, all LR categorised taxa also have a subcategory that should go along with it, e.g. LR/nt, LR/lc or LR/cd. So for Vipera raddei it should be LR/lc. —Pengo talk · contribs 23:35, 14 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
