all-time rosters and players categories

It seems to me that the Category:{Team name}} players pages would be a more complete source of all-time player rosters. For example, I see a much more complete list by going to Category:San Francisco Giants players then I do when I go to San Francisco Giants all-time roster. --Wolfer68 (talk) 09:28, 19 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Probably the opposite is true now. First, the rosters should be complete lists of players where the categories cover only players with wikipedia pages. Second, it appears to me, the all-time rosters are intended to cover ballclubs in multiple cities and under multiple nicknames where the categories are designed to subdivide by city and nickname. --P64 (talk) 05:45, 15 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
