I was wondering if anyone sees the value in breaking down this category into subcategories, similar to what was done with Category:Monotypic animal genera. We're approaching 600 articles in this category, which could be a bit much, especially since it is likely that there are more monotypic species with pages that are not yet categorized since plant taxonomy seems less represented on Wikipedia than animal taxonomy. Different Divisions (Magnoliophyta, Pinophyta, etc.) could be the starting point, or broken down even more for the larger orders (Asterales, Rosales, etc.) or families (Asteraceae, Orchidaceae, etc.).
